Anas graduated with a B.Sc. in Electrical (Computer) Engineering (NUCES-FAST '14) with several accolades. Afterward, he worked as a Software Development Engineer and then as a Senior Software Development Engineer at Mentor Graphics (now a Seimens business) where he actively developed and maintained several automotive network stacks. He joined the ECE Ph.D. program at BU in Fall, 2017 where he currently works under the supervision of Prof. Starobinski. His research looks into finding inefficiencies in the current implementation of the Bitcoin software and discovering set reconciliation based solutions to these inefficiencies. His latest work, co-authored with Profs. Starobinski and Trachtenberg, won a Best Paper Award at IEEE-ICBC'20!
