Using Technology to Save the World from COVID

Abstract

We detail an approach to saving the world from the COVID pandemic through the use of ubiquitous technologies, such as smartphones and wearables. Our extremely simple approach ™ alerts participants when they have been near potentially infectious individuals, and has built-in privacy protections (for those who care about these things). When combined with testing, manual contact tracing, and a vaccine (i.e. technologies that already work) , we are confident that this approach will help rid the world of the dangerous virus and return technologists to their rightful status as world heroes.
