Seminar Organization

Despite prevailing wisdom, this seminar will be organized. We will discuss claimed organization on our first meeting, following the following, loose protocol:

• Zoom etiquette
  • There is no Zoom*.
  • Talks will not be recorded.
  • 105% of life is showing up (the other 35% is made up on the spot).
• Expectations
  • All
    • Join our mailing list by e-mailing Prof. Ari Trachtenberg.
      • If you can't figure out his e-mail address, this is probably the wrong seminar for you.
  • Students
    • Agree, in principle, to give one talk during the summer on anything (legal, ethical, interesting, …) related to practical security.
      • In principle, because if we run out of slots - you don't run out of luck.
    • Eat free-to-you-food (modulo the proviso above).
  • Faculty/staff
    • Recommend papers (when asked?)
    • Make insightful (or, at least, incomprehensible) comments
    • Eat food
  • Sign ups
    • 20 or 40 minute sessions (++ questions)
• Brief introductions
  • Identify faculty
• Potential sources for papers
  • Recent research.
  • Hacker conferences
  • Academic conferences
